Career
Born on November 20, 1960 in Kitami City, Hokkaido. Hokkaido Kitami Hakuyo High School, Hokkai Gakuen University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering. After graduating from university, he worked in his family's construction business for eight years. In 1991, Kitami City Council member (one term), in 1995, Hokkaido Assembly Member (five consecutive terms). In 2012, he was elected as the head of the House of Representatives in the 46th General Election. In 2017, completed the master's program at the Graduate School of Commerce, Hokkai University of Commerce. In 2017, he was re-elected as the 48th member of the House of Representatives. He has served as a member of the Health, Labor and Welfare Committee, Liberal Democratic Party National Assembly Committee, Vice Chairman of the Health, Labor and Welfare Subcommittee, Vice Chairman of the Economy, Trade and Industry Subcommittee, and Secretary of the Hokkaido Comprehensive Policy Special Committee. In September 2020, assumed the position of Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance. In July 2020, he was elected as the head of the House of Councilors in the 26th regular election.
