Career
Born on June 21, 1964 in Hachirogata-cho, Minamiakita-gun, Akita Prefecture. After attending Akita Prefectural Akita High School, he entered Waseda University's Second Faculty of Letters. Joined Prince Hotel Co., Ltd. He is a member of the company's hardball baseball team and plays professional baseball for three years. In 1990, he joined the Kintetsu Buffaloes as the third pick in the draft, and then played professional baseball for the Yomiuri Giants, Chiba Lotte Marines, and Yokohama BayStars for the next 13 years. After retiring as an active player, he worked as a baseball commentator for Nippon Television, and then became the manager of the Seibu Lions' second team, working hard to develop young players. After that, he ran for the House of Councilors election in July 2010 and won the election. Served as party vice chief of affairs, vice chairman of the party political affairs research committee, deputy chief of the party parliamentary committee, director of the party personnel affairs department, and deputy chief of the party organization and movement headquarters.
