Career

Born on March 6, 1972 in Yahaba-cho, Shiwa-gun, Iwate Prefecture. March 1990: Graduated from Iwate Prefectural Morioka Technical High School. Joined Suzuki Motor Corporation in April of the same year. In 1995, he obtained an International Motocross Class A license and participated in the All Japan Motocross Championship. In 1997, he suffered a spinal cord injury due to an accident during training and was forced to use a wheelchair. Became a chair skier in 1999, and represented Japan at the Vancouver Paralympics in March 2010. 21st place in the men's alpine ski competition. In July 2019, he was elected as the opposition party's unified candidate in the Iwate prefecture election for the House of Councilors. As chief director of the Great East Japan Earthquake Reconstruction Special Committee and chief director of the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Committee, he works on the reconstruction of disaster-stricken areas and the promotion of agriculture and rural areas.
